You don't always need a huge amount of real estate to make a statement. On this project the homeowner wanted a "sexy" entrance. I usually recommend to homeowners, if the area isn't huge why not consider a little more expensive stone. The material cost is not that much of a difference. Why not go with something nice, why not go with something you're going to enjoy for many years? Why not go with a products that are colourfast and will not start to fade out in 3 - 5 years? After much deliberation, and many visits to look at samples, the homeowner chose Umbriano. The two final choices were Richcliff or Umbriano, Umbriano won out. With it's colour fusion surface and zero bevel edge, Umbriano, fits the bill. It's sleek and modern. Three sizes were used, 16x16, 8x16 and 8x8, this combination of sizes provides that classic ashlar look that is timeless.
A sailor course of Series 3000 adds that finishing touch and unique design. I like using Series 3000 for accents on many jobs, there is only one difficulty with it. Most of the dealers do not stock the full range, most only stock the colours, Black Granite and usually only in one size, 4x8. The dealer that I patronize stocks Series 3000 in 4x8 and 6x6 but occasionally there is a half bundle or even a full bundle of the full color range. Sizes can vary but I keep an eye out to see what occasionally just , shows up. Fortunately my dealer had just enough material to finish this job.
This walkway is a one of kind creation. That's what makes working with Unilock products such a treat. The depth of product is like no other. Every project can be personalized. Banding, edging, insets, paver rugs. It's this creative challenge that keeps this installer coming back for more.
