As one of the few Unilock Authorized Contractors that actually enjoys doing repairs. I was contacted by a homeowner for a paver repair project. These pavers were installed around 1991 or so. The surface is showing the usual signs of age. Even though the top surface has become etched, the pavers are still structurally sound and were a good candidate for repair. On this particular project the deck stairs were rebuilt and the edge row of pavers was pulled up and set aside. The stones needed to be regraded and a Brussels Block step was added. The homeowner was extremely pleased with the results. Any large gaps on the edges were filled in and the slope of the patio was reduced slightly making it feel more comfortable. Fortunately there were extra stones from the original project still around so we could make new cuts with them.
With so many square feet of pavers out there in the Toronto area, many patios, walkways and driveways are in need of repair. Weeds are a common sight along with dips and water pooling in the pavement. The stones can be lifted and any base adjustments can be made by regrading or adding more gravel. The stones can be re-installed and with the addition of polymeric sand for the joints. Weeds are a thing of the past.
Materials Used On This Project:
